SFU’s Faculty of Health Sciences is accepting applications for its Fall 2027 MSc intake. Research areas include big data, developmental trajectories, infectious diseases, mental health and substance use, planetary health, and policy and systems research.
Applicants need the equivalent of a four-year bachelor’s degree. SFU lists a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 (B), or 3.33 (B+) over the last 60 undergraduate credits. A degree may be in progress at application, but must be completed before the programme begins.
Applicants must demonstrate English-language competency when required and have a confirmed Health Sciences supervisor by the deadline. Applications without a confirmed supervisor will not be considered.
This is an admission opportunity, not a scholarship announcement. SFU’s page says supervisors provide minimum funding for MSc and PhD applicants, but the specific Fall 2027 funding amount and terms are not stated on the standard intake page.
SFU lists CAD 21,000 per year for the first two years for MSc applicants in its separate off-cycle admission guidance. Do not assume that this amount applies to the Fall 2027 intake without confirmation from the programme.

Admission is competitive. Meeting minimum requirements does not guarantee admission. An international applicant with transcripts from outside Canada or the United States should check SFU’s programme-specific instructions; the MSc/PhD page says a WES or ICES credential evaluation is not required.
