Simon Fraser University’s International Undergraduate Scholars Entrance Scholarship is a competitive award for eligible international high-school applicants entering SFU in Fall 2027.
The scholarship application period runs from 1 October to 15 December 2026. SFU currently says the scholarship application portal is temporarily unavailable until 2 November 2026.
Applicants must:
The award is competitive. Meeting the minimum criteria does not guarantee admission or a scholarship.
The International Undergraduate Scholars Entrance Scholarship is listed at CAD 140,000, paid as eight instalments of CAD 17,500.
In limited cases, SFU may also offer an additional living allowance of up to CAD 8,000 per term to exceptionally talented students with demonstrated financial need. This additional amount is not guaranteed.
SFU’s timeline says scholarship payments are placed on a recipient’s SFU student account. The official page does not describe the award as covering every cost of study.
The scholarship application includes:
An optional section allows applicants to describe their financial circumstances.
Applicants must first apply for SFU admission and receive an SFU student number to access the scholarship application. The separate Fall 2027 high-school admission deadline is 31 January 2027.
SFU lists a non-refundable international undergraduate admission application fee of CAD 130. I could not confirm a separate scholarship application fee from the official scholarship page.
A scholarship award is not a study permit. Applicants should check Canadian study-permit requirements separately. SFU’s scholarship page does not confirm visa sponsorship.
SFU confirms the award value, instalments, eligibility thresholds and deadlines. The scholarship portal is temporarily unavailable until 2 November 2026. The extra living allowance is limited and conditional, and the scholarship does not guarantee selection or admission.
