Required Documents / Application Components
The scholarship application includes an unofficial transcript, and applicants need two reference forms:
For some management applications, a professional reference may replace the academic reference; the Master of Management in Analytics still requires an academic reference.
The official FAQ also confirms that standardized-test scores such as GRE, GMAT, LSAT, MCAT or DAT are not required for the McCall MacBain scholarship application itself, although the intended McGill programme may later require them.
Application Steps
Step 1 — Check your degree eligibility
Confirm that you meet one of the bachelor's-degree timing criteria.
Step 2 — Identify your McGill programme
Make sure your intended programme qualifies for McCall MacBain funding.
Step 3 — Determine whether you require university endorsement
This should be checked before assuming you can simply submit independently.
Step 4 — Prepare your scholarship application
Prepare your transcript and application responses.
Step 5 — Request your references immediately
The reference writers must submit their forms before the same application deadline. An unfinished reference can make the application incomplete.
Step 6 — Submit the McCall MacBain application
August 19, 2026 — 4:00 PM ET.
Step 7 — Apply separately to McGill
This scholarship application does not constitute an application for admission to McGill.
Applicants subsequently submit their McGill programme application according to the relevant programme deadline. Scholarship finalists must apply to McGill by December even if their programme deadline is later.
⚠️ University Endorsement Warning
This deserves prominent placement on TripDoc.
International applicants who are current students or recent graduates may require endorsement.
The official FAQ further states that international applicants who did not attend a Canadian university or a participating university abroad may need endorsement regardless of graduation year.
If endorsement is required in an applicant's circumstances, they cannot simply choose to bypass it; applications requiring endorsement will not be considered without it.
Examples of participating Nigerian universities listed for 2026
University of Ibadan
University of Lagos
University of Nigeria, Nsukka
among its participating universities abroad.
Applicants from other universities should not assume their endorsement procedure is identical.
