UNSW’s Term 1, 2027 international scholarship application includes the International Scientia Coursework Scholarship (PUCA1025). It is for eligible international students commencing full-time undergraduate or postgraduate coursework study at UNSW Sydney.
The scholarship offers one of two tuition awards: full tuition fees for the minimum duration of the eligible programme, or AUD 20,000 per year toward tuition fees. These are alternative awards, not combined benefits.
Applicants must be international students commencing full-time study in an eligible UNSW undergraduate or postgraduate coursework degree in Term 1, 2027. UNSW Online and UNSW Canberra programmes are excluded.
The scholarship page says applicants generally need an eligible UNSW offer by 30 October 2026. It lists eligible offer types, including unconditional offers and some conditional offers. Conditions involving Genuine Student requirements or English-language requirements do not qualify under the stated conditional-offer rules; a Conditional English Package Offer has its own enrolment and completion condition.
UNSW also says applicants with pending Year 12 or equivalent results and UAC International applicants may submit by the deadline. The FAQ gives additional instructions for applicants still awaiting an offer or results. Check directly with UNSW if this applies to you; do not assume that submitting a scholarship application alone makes you eligible.
Selection considers academic merit, leadership, extracurricular activities, and reasons for choosing UNSW. Applicants must answer the application questions and provide evidence for their claims.
Recipients receive one of these awards:
The award is paid toward tuition. It does not provide a stated living allowance, travel grant, accommodation package or general cash stipend. Under the AUD 20,000 option, tuition costs above the contribution remain the student’s responsibility.
UNSW requires evidence supporting the applicant’s academic, leadership and extracurricular claims. The supporting-document guide gives examples such as academic results or transcripts, certificates, confirmation letters and employer or volunteer references, depending on the claims made.
The guide says the scholarship system accepts one supporting-document file per applicant, so relevant evidence must be combined into one PDF. Follow the current application form and supporting-document guide for the documents that apply to your case.
Applicants submit the PUCA1029 scholarship application online, answer the application questions and upload supporting evidence. UNSW assesses eligibility and ranks eligible applicants against the selection criteria. The scholarship FAQ says outcomes are generally expected within 30 days after the application closes, though assessment can take longer.
The application closes on 30 October 2026. UNSW’s page prints 11:59 PM AEST; because Sydney is observing daylight time then, confirm the portal’s displayed closing time with UNSW and submit early.
This is a tuition scholarship, not a visa or immigration grant. UNSW’s scholarship information does not state that it provides visa sponsorship or pays visa costs. Admission or scholarship selection does not guarantee a student visa.
The UNSW page confirms the Term 1, 2027 round is open and closes on 30 October 2026. It states the closing time as 11:59 PM AEST. NSW Government information confirms daylight saving began in NSW on 4 October 2026, so the timezone label on the scholarship page appears inconsistent with Sydney local time on the deadline date. TripDoc could not confirm the portal’s displayed timezone.
The scholarship page generally requires an eligible offer by the closing date, with instructions for some applicants awaiting Year 12 results or applying through UAC. Applicants should verify their individual eligibility directly with UNSW.
