Check the correct international application routeRequired
International applicants may apply through the selected course page, Abertay's direct route, UCAS for undergraduate study, or an accredited agent. Use only one permitted route and follow the course-specific instructions.
Upload the documents required for the selected course and submit before the relevant course/intake deadline. Direct undergraduate applicants must not also submit a UCAS application.
If offered admission, accept the offer and satisfy the stated academic, document, English-language and payment conditions by the deadlines in the offer and for the relevant intake.
Coverage: A reduction of up to £3,000 from the annual tuition fee for each eligible year of study, up to four years. The award is not paid as cash and is not payable for repeat years.
Applicant costs: Eligibility conditions attached to funding: New international/Overseas fee-status student; eligible full-time undergraduate or postgraduate taught course on the Dundee campus; all offer conditions met; registration completed; postgraduate taught applicants need the equivalent of a UK 2:1 or better. Continued payment requires continued eligibility.

Visa-requiring students must pay 50% of the net annual tuition fee before CAS issuance.

The Abertay International Scholarship is a tuition-fee award for eligible new international students beginning a full-time undergraduate or postgraduate taught degree on Abertay University's campus in Dundee, Scotland.
The award is worth up to £3,000 per year and may continue for each year of the degree, up to a maximum of four years. It is applied as a reduction to tuition fees rather than paid to the student in cash.
There is no separate scholarship application. Abertay assesses eligible applicants using their application for admission and notifies successful recipients by email after an offer of study has been issued.
Who can apply
Applicants must meet all of the following confirmed conditions:
be classified by Abertay University as having international or Overseas fee status;
be a new entrant rather than a current student seeking a retrospective award;
apply for a new full-time undergraduate or postgraduate taught degree delivered on campus in Dundee;
receive an offer and meet all academic and other conditions attached to that offer;
register as an Abertay University student to receive the award;
for postgraduate taught study, apply with the equivalent of a UK 2:1 bachelor's degree or better, which Abertay describes as approximately 60% and above.
Applicants admitted with advanced entry into Year 2 or above of an undergraduate programme may also be eligible if they meet the other conditions.
Government- or company-sponsored students may be eligible. Students coming from an Abertay partner institution may be considered, but cannot receive both the partner tuition discount and this scholarship.
The official scholarship page states no separate nationality, residency or age restriction beyond international fee status. Course-specific academic and English-language requirements still apply.
The award does not cover:
postgraduate research degrees such as PhD or MPhil;
Do not submit a separate scholarship form. Abertay assesses eligible applicants through their study application and emails successful recipients after an offer is issued.
Accept the award as soon as possible through the My Abertay section of the Oasis applicant portal. An offer of admission does not guarantee a scholarship.
Applicants who need a Student visa must complete CAS Shield, satisfy financial and document checks, pay 50% of the net annual tuition fee for CAS issuance, obtain the CAS and apply separately for the visa.
A tuition-fee reduction of up to £3,000 per academic year.
Support for each eligible year of the degree, for up to four years.
Automatic assessment through the admission application; no separate scholarship form is required.
The award has a fixed value and does not increase with inflation. It is not paid for repeat years. If the student changes programme at Abertay, the award may continue subject to continued eligibility.
The scholarship may be combined with certain named Abertay awards. Abertay's published combinations show possible total annual values of £5,000 with the Dean's Scholarship or Abertay Türkiye Scholarship, and £7,000 with the Principal's Excellence Scholarship or Abertay IB30+ Scholarship. Applicants must rely on the current terms and their individual award notice; the Abertay Alumni Discount is not available to overseas fee-paying students.
Required documents
There are no separately listed documents for this scholarship because there is no separate scholarship application.
For admission, Abertay says international applicants are typically asked for:
a personal statement or statement of purpose;

evidence of English-language ability, unless an official exemption applies;
any course-specific evidence, such as a portfolio, work-experience record, test or interview;
additional verification or a credibility interview in some cases.
The exact documents depend on the course, study level, country and application route. Direct undergraduate applicants may also need an up-to-date transcript and a teacher or school-counsellor reference/evaluative report.

The award cannot be transferred to another institution.

Visa and immigration information
This scholarship does not include a visa, guarantee visa approval or pay visa-related costs.
Applicants who require a UK Student visa must first receive an eligible offer, satisfy the university's conditions, complete CAS Shield requirements and obtain a CAS. Abertay states that a CAS is issued only after the relevant eligibility, document and financial checks have been completed. The applicant must then make and pay for the visa application and provide the required financial and identity evidence.
