Applications for University of Alberta undergraduate study beginning in September 2027 opened on 1 October 2026. Entrance scholarships include automatic consideration and awards requiring a separate application.
**Who can apply **International admission requires suitable academic history, programme-specific subjects, grades and language proficiency. High-school applicants generally need five academic subjects; the combination varies by faculty. Health Sciences and Education applicants also face spoken-English requirements. There is no single grade threshold or universal English-test exemption. [S4] Entrance-award applicants normally enter their first full-time undergraduate year from high school. The university also identifies school leavers who took time off without earning post-secondary credit. Applicants with post-secondary credit should check transfer/professional award routes instead. Individual awards add their own conditions.
What the opportunity provides Eligible applicants may receive financial support toward study costs. Award values and conditions vary; admission does not guarantee funding. Selected international awards are detailed in the Funding tab.
Required documents Follow your Launchpad Checklist. Depending on your circumstances it requests academic results/transcripts, final-year course registrations and test results. Documents issued outside English or French require certified English translations. Official records normally come from the issuing institution; follow the university’s permitted sealed-envelope alternative when applicable. Do not send unsolicited documents. Scholarship form questions and any additional evidence must be checked inside Awards Hub; I cannot confirm a universal scholarship document checklist from the public sources.
Selection process and timeline
Programme-specific admission and document dates take precedence over general dates. The admission cutoff-time conflict is unresolved; applicants should submit before the stated deadline day.
Important conditions Admission and scholarship applications are separate actions. A new applicant pays a non-refundable CAD 150 admission fee; professional-programme fees can differ. Tuition and total living costs depend on the programme and personal circumstances. Funding should be treated as competitive support, with a plan for any shortfall.
Complete this additional application and any relevant portal requirements by 10 January. Applications cannot be reopened or updated after the deadline.
Review Launchpad Checklist regularly and arrange required official documents by your programme’s document deadline.
Open step linkFollow university study-permit and applicable PAL instructions; BorderPass assistance is optional.
Open step linkVisa and immigration information International degree students need the applicable Canadian study authorization. The university offers newly admitted degree students optional free BorderPass immigration assistance; government filing fees remain the student’s responsibility. Check current PAL requirements and university instructions after admission. Assistance and admission are not guarantees of immigration approval.
TripDoc verification notes Checked on 8 October 2026. The active intake and award deadline are supported by university sources. Official admission closing times conflict.
