Many students searching for scholarships in Canada miss one important detail: not every University of Alberta scholarship works the same way.
Some entrance scholarships are admission-based, meaning students may be considered automatically after applying for admission. Others are application-based, meaning students must submit a separate scholarship application before the deadline.
That difference matters.
The University of Alberta offers several international entrance scholarships for undergraduate students, including awards based on academic performance and leadership. However, students should be careful not to describe this opportunity as a “fully funded scholarship,” because the university states that it does not offer full scholarships for either domestic or international students.
How to apply

Important: This is not a guaranteed scholarship and should not be presented as fully funded. Some awards are automatic, but the higher-value scholarships are competitive and may require a separate application.
