Program Description
Apply for the DAAD Study Scholarships for STEM Disciplines in Germany 2027/28. Eligible graduates from selected developing and emerging countries can receive €992 monthly support, insurance contributions, travel allowance, study allowance, and possible additional benefits for tuition-free STEM Master’s programmes in Germany.
Who Can Apply
High-achieving graduates from eligible developing and emerging countries who want to complete a full-time, on-campus STEM Master’s degree at a state or state-recognised German university.

Have completed a first degree recognised in Germany, such as a Bachelor’s degree, by the application deadline
•Apply for a STEM Master’s programme in mathematics, computer science, natural sciences, engineering, or an interdisciplinary programme with a clear STEM focus

•Apply for a programme starting in winter semester 2027/28
•Not already have a Master’s degree by the application deadline
•Not have been resident in Germany for more than 15 months at the application deadline
•Demonstrate above-average academic performance
•Meet admission requirements for the chosen German Master’s programme
•Provide proof of language skills in the language of instruction, at least B1
Required Documents
DAAD lists the following required documents:
•Full CV in tabular form, maximum 3 pages
•Motivation letter, 1–3 pages
•Letter of admission to the German host university, or submit it before funding begins if not available during DAAD application
•Completed form: “Information about your preferred master programmes”
• Current transcript of records
• Degree certificates and transcripts for all academic years
• Language certificate for the language of instruction, at least B1
• One recent recommendation letter from a university teacher using the DAAD form
• Passport or national identity card
• Residence-status documents if applicable
•Refugee ID/UNHCR proof if applicable
• Optional: employment certificates, extracurricular proof, or other relevant documents
Application Steps

2.Confirm that your country and status are eligible.
3.Choose up to five eligible Master’s programmes in Germany.
4.Check that each programme is STEM-focused and tuition-free.
5.Confirm language requirements for each chosen programme.
6.Prepare your DAAD portal documents.
7.Request the DAAD recommendation form during the application period.
8.Register and apply through the DAAD portal.
9.Upload all documents as PDFs.
10.Submit before the country-specific deadline. Do not wait until the final day.
