Required Documents
For scholarship consideration, Aarhus University says no extra scholarship documents are required.
For the Master’s application, applicants should prepare the normal admission documents required by their chosen programme. These may include:
•Bachelor’s degree documentation
•Transcript of records
•Proof of English language proficiency
•Course descriptions or academic documentation where required
•Passport or identity document
•Application fee receipt if applicable
•Programme-specific documents if required
Because requirements can differ by programme, applicants must check the exact programme page before applying.
Application Steps
1.Go to Aarhus University’s Master’s programme list.
2.Choose an eligible English-taught Master’s programme.
3.Check the academic and English language requirements.
4.Prepare admission documents.
5.Pay the application fee if required.
6.Apply online before the correct deadline:
-15 January for summer intake
•15 September for winter intake
7.Do not submit a separate scholarship application.
8.Wait for admission and scholarship assessment.
9.If selected, accept the scholarship quickly because Aarhus says the deadline to accept can be very short.
10.If only a tuition waiver is offered, prepare proof of financial support for the Danish student residence permit.
Important Warnings
•This is not a separate scholarship application.
•Scholarships are automatic consideration through the admission application.
•Scholarships are limited.
•Aarhus says usually only one or two scholarships are offered per Master’s programme.
•Not all highly qualified applicants receive scholarships.
•EU/EEA/Swiss students cannot apply for Aarhus University scholarships.
•Natural Sciences and Technical Sciences typically offer tuition waivers only.
•A tuition waiver alone may not be enough for the Danish student residence permit; proof of living funds may still be required.
•If you are not selected for a tuition waiver, you must pay tuition fees.
•For non-EU applicants, the application fee is generally €150 / DKK 1,125 unless exempt.
Visa / Residence Permit Note
This is not visa sponsorship. Non-EU students usually need a Danish student residence permit. Aarhus says students who receive only a tuition waiver without a monthly stipend may need to document enough funds to support themselves.
Application Fee
€150 / DKK 1,125 for most non-EU/EEA/Swiss applicants, covering up to three applications at Aarhus University, unless exempt.
