The Global Markets, Local Creativities (GLOCAL) programme is a two-year, full-time Erasmus Mundus Joint Master designed and delivered by an international consortium of universities.
Applications are open for the 2027β2029 intake beginning in September 2027.
Students complete 120 ECTS and study across multiple partner universities depending on their selected study track. The programme focuses on global markets, economic and social change, business, sustainability, creative industries and related areas.
Applicants may apply to only one GLOCAL study track.
Applicants from any region of the world may apply for the Erasmus Mundus scholarship.
Applicants normally need a UK 2:1 Honours degree or an international equivalent in an accepted or closely related academic discipline.
Accepted backgrounds include areas such as business, economics, global studies, history, international business, international relations, political science, sociology, sustainability, trade and urban studies, among other specified subjects.
Some study tracks have additional academic-background requirements.
Applicants whose first language is not English must meet the programme's English-language requirements.
There is no stated age limit.
Students completing the final year of their first degree may apply before receiving their final degree certificate, although final documentation will be required before an unconditional offer can be issued.
Erasmus Mundus scholarship recipients are not required to pay GLOCAL tuition fees.
The scholarship structure provides a contribution equivalent to β¬1,400 per month for the duration of the two-year programme.
GLOCAL also confirms insurance coverage for Erasmus Mundus scholarship recipients.
An alternative payment arrangement may allow recipients to receive advance payments toward visa, travel and installation expenses, with the remaining scholarship distributed as monthly subsistence payments.
Scholarships are competitive and are not automatically awarded to applicants admitted to the programme.
Applicants are required to provide:
At least one supporting reference should normally be academic.
Applicants should check the official instructions carefully because references have specific requirements concerning dates, signatures, institutional letterhead and submission method.
Programme admission is initially assessed through the University of Glasgow admissions process.
Applicants meeting the programme requirements can then be considered for the Erasmus Mundus scholarship.
Published scholarship assessment criteria include:
Scholarship outcomes for the 2027 intake are expected in early April 2027.
Applicants can apply to only one GLOCAL study track.
Track H is not open for the 2027β2029 intake.
Erasmus Mundus scholarships are competitive.
GLOCAL also applies geographical-balance rules to regular Erasmus Mundus scholarships, meaning scholarship availability can be affected by nationality distribution across programme editions.
Applicants who have previously received an Erasmus Mundus Joint Master scholarship should carefully check the current scholarship eligibility rules before applying.
The GLOCAL programme involves international mobility and students may need visas or residence permits for multiple countries.
GLOCAL states that Erasmus Mundus scholarship students receive a Confirmation of Funding letter that can assist with proof-of-funding requirements for visa applications.
Students remain responsible for obtaining the visas and immigration permissions required for each mobility period.
Admission or scholarship selection does not guarantee visa approval.
TripDoc verified that the official GLOCAL homepage announces the 2027β2029 Erasmus Mundus scholarship and self-funded application round as open.
The official scholarship deadline shown for the 2027 intake is 14 January 2027 at 13:00 UK time.
However, as checked on 3 October 2026, some dedicated GLOCAL application and scholarship pages still display information from the previous 2026β2028 application cycle.
Applicants should therefore verify that they are using the current 2027 scholarship application form before submitting their application.
