Most Erasmus Mundus Joint Master applications are normally submitted between October and January for programmes beginning the following academic year.
For the newly selected 2026 Erasmus Mundus Joint Masters, applications are expected to start opening in autumn 2026 for programmes beginning around September 2027.

Who Can Apply?
Applicants from all countries worldwide may apply.
* Hold a bachelor's degree or equivalent first degree; or
* Be in the final year of a bachelor's programme;
* Complete your bachelor's degree before the Erasmus Mundus Master's programme begins.
Applicants with an officially recognised level of learning equivalent to a bachelor's qualification may also qualify, depending on the applicable national recognition rules and individual programme requirements.
Individual Erasmus Mundus programmes may impose additional academic, language, professional or subject-specific requirements.

Step 2 — Open the individual programme website
The Erasmus Mundus Catalogue links applicants to the website of each programme or consortium.
Step 3 — Confirm scholarship availability
Do not assume that every programme appearing in the catalogue currently offers Erasmus Mundus scholarships.
Some programmes listed in the catalogue may be approaching the end of their Erasmus Mundus funding period or may only retain the Erasmus Mundus name.
Step 4 — Check programme-specific eligibility
Review academic background, degree requirements, language requirements, nationality conditions if any, documents and deadlines.
Step 5 — Apply directly to the programme
Students do NOT submit one central Erasmus Mundus application to the European Commission.

2027 Intake Update
On 16 July 2026, the European Commission announced the selection of 37 new Erasmus Mundus Joint Masters.
According to the Commission, these Master's programmes will be added to the Erasmus Mundus Catalogue and are expected to begin opening for student applications in autumn 2026, with programmes starting around September 2027.
Prospective 2027 applicants should therefore begin preparing before the application cycle starts.
