Who can apply?
Citizens of Chevening-eligible countries and territories who satisfy the programme’s education, post-graduation work-experience, course-selection and return-home requirements.
Applicants should use the official country selector to confirm that an award is available for their citizenship.

The monthly stipend depends on whether the scholar studies inside or outside London and is subject to annual review. Chevening has not published one universal stipend figure that applies to every 2027–2028 scholar.
Eligibility
Be citizens of a Chevening-eligible country or territory.
Intend to support their country of award.
Commit to returning to their country of award for at least two years after completing the scholarship.
Have at least 2,800 hours of work experience obtained after completing their undergraduate degree.
Have accumulated that experience over at least two years.
Have completed their undergraduate studies by October 2024 for the current application cycle.
Hold a degree that qualifies them for admission to a UK master’s programme.
Select three different eligible UK university courses.
Obtain at least one unconditional offer from those choices by 8 July 2027.
Eligible experience can include full-time work, part-time employment, voluntary work and paid or unpaid internships—but only qualifying experience obtained after completion of the undergraduate degree counts for this cycle.

If invited to interview, applicants must upload the requested documents at least seven working days before the interview, including:
Photo identification
Undergraduate degree certificate or diploma
Two reference letters
References must be in English. A reference written in another language must include the original and a notarised English translation.
University applications are separate and may require transcripts, a personal statement, references, English-language evidence and other course-specific documents.
