That is false.
Nationality is a core eligibility criterion.
⚠️ Warning 2 — Residence ≠ nationality
A Nigerian studying in Germany does not automatically qualify because they live or study in Germany.
Eligibility is based on nationality, not merely country of residence or university location.
⚠️ Warning 3 — You must remain a student
Graduating before or during the placement may create an eligibility problem because CERN requires you to remain enrolled full-time during the studentship.
⚠️ Warning 4 — PhD candidates shouldn't apply
PhD students and PhD holders are explicitly excluded from this programme.
CERN has separate routes designed for doctoral candidates.
⚠️ Warning 5 — CERN's programme landing page contains stale-looking wording
The landing page currently contains a banner saying the programme “is now closed” and will reopen on 6 August, while the same current page displays six 2027-1 vacancies and the individual vacancies show Apply now with the October 2026 deadline. Therefore, TripDoc should rely on the current individual 2027 vacancy listings when representing current application status.
